The Labor Department announced another fifty four thousand jobs were lost last month and unemployment increased again. In reaction, President Obama called for another stimulus.
The more things change, the more they remain the same. Our economy won’t change until Washington stops spending money we don’t have.
We were told that if we passed the first stimulus at a cost of $787 billion, we could keep the unemployment rate under 8%. But since then the unemployment rate has risen to double digits (and remains so in many states) and now sits at 9.6%. 2.6 million people have lost jobs and another 1.2 million have given up even looking for jobs.
President Obama and Congressman Etheridge are in the grip of an extreme ideology that holds politicians can spend us rich. Their extreme ideology has to be defeated in November.
