Lately the President seems more interested in appeasing his left-wing donors than promoting economic recovery. Let’s review. First, the president cow-towed to the left-wing base of the Democratic Party by blocking access [...]

You may remember the curt exchange between Bob Etheridge and a U.S. Marine at a town hall meeting in Lillington last summer, when the Marine asked Congressman Etheridge a question about Obamacare. By comparison, during our debate, Congressman Etheridge was courting veterans and bragging about his support for the military. But veterans live in the same economy as the rest of us and – as the Marine’s question showed – ‘DC Bob’s’ votes for stimulus spending, Obamacare, cap and trade, bailouts and trillion dollar deficits hurt them just like everyone else.

For example, ‘NC Bob’ promised seniors he wouldn’t cut Medicare but, then, ‘DC Bob’ voted to cut Medicare half a trillion to pay for Obamacare. That didn’t just make life harder for seniors. It affected their children and families.

Finally, during our debate – while ‘DC Bob’ was pandering to veterans – there’s one vote he never mentioned: How, when our troops were fighting in Iraq, he voted with Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi against the surge. Our troops were making the sacrifices that are now allowing us to leave Iraq with honor – but when it came to sending them reinforcements Congressman Etheridge voted no.

Please keep this in mind the next time you hear Bob Etheridge talk about his support for veterans.

Yesterday morning, I debated Congressman Bob Etheridge at WTVD 11. The debate is available online (watch below) and will be televised on October 24th.

During the debate Congressman Etheridge (as he has done throughout the campaign) promised voters he shares their values and concerns – but then dodged explaining why he has voted with President Obama and Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time in Congress.

He also dodged defending the ad he is running against me – which even the News & Observer says is inaccurate and misleading. And he dodged explaining why he’s voted for over a trillion dollars of Obama’s tax increases.

Campaigning in North Carolina ‘NC Bob’ Etheridge talks the talk he thinks voters want to hear. He says he shares our values. Supports a balanced budget. Wants to cut spending. But in Washington ‘DC Bob’ doesn’t walk the walk. ‘DC Bob’ voted for the Obama bailouts, Obama stimulus bills and Obama’s trillion dollar deficit.

Watch the debate above or [click here] to view it at WTVD.com.
