For two and a half years the President and Democrats in Washington have embraced a tax, spend, and regulate mentality that, in the midst of our great recession, has proved to be a job killer. The June unemployment report – 9.2% – confirmed what we already knew. President Obama’s policies are bad for business. In [...]
Video: Questioning Secretary Geithner
by renee on June 27, 2011 in Blog, Jobs
I had the opportunity to question Secretary Geithner when he testified before the Small Business Committee last week. During our exchange, the secretary told me the administration has no choice but to continue adding to the excessive burdens on the backs of our small businesses – or else shrink the government. On behalf of the small [...]
Etheridge Dodges During Debate
by renee on October 12, 2010 in Blog, Economy, Health Care, Jobs, Spending, Taxes
Yesterday morning, I debated Congressman Bob Etheridge at WTVD 11. The debate is available online (watch below) and will be televised on October 24th.
During the debate Congressman Etheridge (as he has done throughout the campaign) promised voters he shares their values and concerns – but then dodged explaining why he has voted with President Obama and Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time in Congress.
He also dodged defending the ad he is running against me – which even the News & Observer says is inaccurate and misleading. And he dodged explaining why he’s voted for over a trillion dollars of Obama’s tax increases.
Campaigning in North Carolina ‘NC Bob’ Etheridge talks the talk he thinks voters want to hear. He says he shares our values. Supports a balanced budget. Wants to cut spending. But in Washington ‘DC Bob’ doesn’t walk the walk. ‘DC Bob’ voted for the Obama bailouts, Obama stimulus bills and Obama’s trillion dollar deficit.
Watch the debate above or [click here] to view it at WTVD.com.
Help me combat Bob Etheridge’s misleading negative attacks by contributing whatever you can now. Your contribution will help me get the word out and set the record straight.
Bob Etheridge on the Death Tax
by renee on October 6, 2010 in Blog, Jobs, Taxes, Washington Politics
How much has Congressman Etheridge changed since he went to Washington? A study last year found that repealing the “Death Tax” (also called estate or inheritance taxes) would create 42,000 North Carolina jobs. Without a death tax, small family businesses and farms wouldn’t have to be broken up and sold to pay taxes. When he [...]
Etheridge Casts Deciding Vote for Higher Taxes
by renee on September 30, 2010 in Blog, Economy, Jobs, Taxes
Yesterday, Bob Etheridge had a chance to vote against a tax increase. He didn’t. Then, he put an ad on TV accusing me of wanting to raise taxes. Here’s what happened: On January 1st, every American income tax payer faces a tax increase. Millions of small businesses also face a tax increase and anyone who [...]
