13.3 million Americans are currently out of work. Unfortunately, I am beginning to believe the only job Barack Obama is interested in saving is his own. Lately the President seems more interested in appeasing his left-wing donors than promoting economic recovery. Let’s review. First, the president cow-towed to the left-wing base of the Democratic Party by blocking access [...]
Cutting the Red Tape
71,864 pages! That is the number of pages of new regulations added to the Federal Register this year! You and I know that one of the worst things we can do for our businesses is to create an environment of economic and regulatory uncertainty. But that’s exactly what President Obama has done – at an [...]
Cut, Cap & Balance – an approach to reform Washington
With a $14.3 trillion dollar debt, we have kicked the can to the end of the proverbial road. It is time to make the tough decisions that will reform our spending habits and set our country back on a road to fiscal responsibility. The Cut, Cap, and Balance Act is a conservative approach to tackling [...]
Time to End Politics as Usual
Sometimes it just seems no matter what the American people do Congress doesn’t listen. In November, Americans voted overwhelmingly against Obama-nomics, Obama-care and Obama-deficits – handing Obama, Pelosi and Company the worst mid-term election defeat in decades. After the election, Republicans convened in Washington and voted to end all earmarks – period – and to [...]
Expect More Budget Busting Votes
During our debate on WTVD earlier this week, Congressman Etheridge told voters that he voted to balance the budget 13 years ago, in 1997, and added, “I look forward to working across party lines again. We did that to balance the budget … I cast the first vote. I went to Washington to help balance [...]
Supporting Veterans
You may remember the curt exchange between Bob Etheridge and a U.S. Marine at a town hall meeting in Lillington last summer, when the Marine asked Congressman Etheridge a question about Obamacare. By comparison, during our debate, Congressman Etheridge was courting veterans and bragging about his support for the military. But veterans live in the same economy as the rest of us and – as the Marine’s question showed – ‘DC Bob’s’ votes for stimulus spending, Obamacare, cap and trade, bailouts and trillion dollar deficits hurt them just like everyone else.
For example, ‘NC Bob’ promised seniors he wouldn’t cut Medicare but, then, ‘DC Bob’ voted to cut Medicare half a trillion to pay for Obamacare. That didn’t just make life harder for seniors. It affected their children and families.
Finally, during our debate – while ‘DC Bob’ was pandering to veterans – there’s one vote he never mentioned: How, when our troops were fighting in Iraq, he voted with Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi against the surge. Our troops were making the sacrifices that are now allowing us to leave Iraq with honor – but when it came to sending them reinforcements Congressman Etheridge voted no.
Please keep this in mind the next time you hear Bob Etheridge talk about his support for veterans.
Etheridge Dodges During Debate
Yesterday morning, I debated Congressman Bob Etheridge at WTVD 11. The debate is available online (watch below) and will be televised on October 24th.
During the debate Congressman Etheridge (as he has done throughout the campaign) promised voters he shares their values and concerns – but then dodged explaining why he has voted with President Obama and Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time in Congress.
He also dodged defending the ad he is running against me – which even the News & Observer says is inaccurate and misleading. And he dodged explaining why he’s voted for over a trillion dollars of Obama’s tax increases.
Campaigning in North Carolina ‘NC Bob’ Etheridge talks the talk he thinks voters want to hear. He says he shares our values. Supports a balanced budget. Wants to cut spending. But in Washington ‘DC Bob’ doesn’t walk the walk. ‘DC Bob’ voted for the Obama bailouts, Obama stimulus bills and Obama’s trillion dollar deficit.

Help me combat Bob Etheridge’s misleading negative attacks by contributing whatever you can now. Your contribution will help me get the word out and set the record straight.
Etheridge Casts Deciding Vote for Higher Taxes
Yesterday, Bob Etheridge had a chance to vote against a tax increase. He didn’t. Then, he put an ad on TV accusing me of wanting to raise taxes. Here’s what happened: On January 1st, every American income tax payer faces a tax increase. Millions of small businesses also face a tax increase and anyone who [...]
Linwood Gets a Grant, Etheridge Gets An Endorsement
Here’s an example of good ol’ boy politics in Washington. Bob Etheridge is now running a TV ad where several of his supporters praise him – but what the ad doesn’t explain is at least two of the Etheridge supporters received ‘Stimulus Fund’ checks, thanks to Etheridge. Mr. Linwood Parker is an example. Mr. Parker [...]
Obama-Etheridge Policies Crushing the Middle Class
Bob Etheridge just sent out an email attacking me claiming “my opponent‘s economic plan would crush middle class families and reward Wall Street” – That’s pretty brazen from a man who’s accepted $500,000 in cash from special interest PACs, then voted to bail out everyone from Wall Street bankers to the United Auto Workers Union. [...]
